Dr. Sharon Scherl
’s areas of expertise include medical treatment of adult and pediatric skin disorders, skin cancers, skin surgery, laser surgery and a variety of cosmetic procedures

Dr. Scherl is Chief of the Department of Dermatology at Englewood Hospital. She is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Dermatology and also serves as an AAD committee member on the Recertification Education Task Force. Each year since 2000, Dr. Scherl has been named to America's Top Doctors, the consumer guide to outstanding health care published by Castle Connolly.


Dr. Scherl
graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ in 1977. She then attended Columbia University and graduated with a B.S. degree in nursing in 1981. While working at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, she finished her pre-med requirements and attended New York Medical College from 1984-1988. At New York Med, she served as a student representative for two years and was elected president of the student body in her fourth year of medical school. She was also elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Society and received several service and academic awards upon completing her studies at New York Medical College.

Dr. Scherl completed a one year residency in general medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center and returned to New York Medical College to complete three additional years of training in dermatology. She completed her examinations and was board certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1992.
